Tender Headed: A Reading and Panel with Olatunde Osinaike

The Porch and Soul’d Creative Collective are excited to co-host Olatunde Osinaike for his Tender Headed book tour, selected by Camille Rankine as a winner of the 2022 National Poetry Series. The event will include a reading by the author, followed by a panel discussion along with Tyquan Morton, Jonathan Wynn and Christian Sinclair talking at length on themes noted in the book.

Wild & Precious Life Reading Series

Poetry comforts, inspires, and heals. Poetry is a catalyst for change. Poets need a space to share their art, and poetry lovers need a space to receive the poet’s art. Born out the pandemic, the Wild & Precious Life Series (WPLS) is a Zoom-based poetry reading series that launched on 4/1/20 to be that space.

The January 2024 featured readers include Dorianne Laux, Evelyn Berry, and Olatunde Osinaike.

Concert & Reading at Cafe Noir

Equal parts bookstore, coffee shop and inviting community space, Café Noir fills its shelves with books by Black, PoC and LGBTQ+ authors. And now they’re filling your cup with music, too, as they kick off our Small Business Series sponsored by the Iris Collective with Iris musician Cremaine Booker, aka That Cello Guy. Cremaine also serves as principal cello for Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra and Jackson Symphony Orchestra, and has played with the likes of Hans Zimmer and Jewel, among others. Cremaine will be joined by debut author Olatunde Osinaike and his National Poetry Series-winning collection Tender Headed.
